A green valley town in Doda district, often called Mini Kashmir — meadows, forests, the Vasuki Nag temple, lavender fields and the gateway to Padri and Kailash Kund.
Bhaderwah is a valley town in Doda district surrounded by forested hills and high meadows. Its scenery has earned it the nickname Mini Kashmir. The town has a long history and an old temple of Vasuki Nag, the serpent deity worshipped across the region.
In recent years Bhaderwah has become known for lavender, grown by local farmers under a government aromatic crops programme. The purple fields bloom in early summer.
Bhaderwah is the base for Jai Valley, Chinta Valley, the Padri pass and the Kailash Kund yatra. Allow two or three nights.
