Sanasar takes its name from two small lakes, Sana and Sar. It is a broad, cup-shaped meadow surrounded by pine forest, with a small golf course in the middle and villages around the rim.
It is the adventure hub of the Patnitop area: paragliding, hot-air ballooning in some seasons, camping and horse riding. In winter, snow covers the meadow.
