Nathatop is a higher ridge a short drive beyond Patnitop, with open meadows and sweeping views of the snow-capped Pir Panjal. It gets more snow than Patnitop and holds it longer.
Paragliding operators work from here in season, with tandem flights over the valley. In winter, it is a snow-play destination for families from Jammu and the plains.

Visiting Nathatop
In winter you can visit Srinagar, Gulmarg (snow and skiing), Sonamarg (now reachable through the Z-Morh tunnel) and Pahalgam, where Betaab Valley is the most likely of the side valleys to be open. Gurez, Zero Point, Sinthan Top, Bangus and the Mughal Road are closed by snow.
