Mantalai is a small village in deodar forest a few kilometres from Sudh Mahadev. Local belief holds that it was here that Shiva married Parvati, and an old temple marks the place.
A large yoga ashram was built here in the 1970s and has drawn attention to the village since. The setting — quiet forest, meadows and hills — is the real attraction.
