A Kashmir honeymoon costs most couples ₹50,000 to ₹80,000 in total for five or six nights, including return flights from Delhi, a houseboat night, good hotels and the extras that make it feel like a honeymoon rather than a sightseeing tour. A carefully planned budget trip can come in under ₹50,000. A luxury one with premium hotels and a Gulmarg resort runs from ₹1,20,000 upwards.
This guide breaks that figure down line by line, explains which month gives you the most for your money, and compares the honeymoon packages we run from Srinagar, not just by price but by what is actually in them. That second part is where most honeymoon quotes differ.
Kashmir honeymoon cost at a glance
For two people, total, five or six nights, travelling from Delhi in an ordinary month:
- Budget (₹45,000–60,000): 3★ hotels, one deluxe houseboat night, private sedan, candlelight dinner, Gondola Phase 1.
- Mid-range (₹60,000–90,000): better hotels in Srinagar, a night in Pahalgam or Gulmarg, both Gondola phases, a photoshoot in Kashmiri dress, more meals out.
- Luxury (₹1,20,000 and up): premium Srinagar hotels, 5★ resort nights, a luxury houseboat, private experiences and serious shopping.
If you are not sure yet whether a honeymoon or a standard trip is what you are planning, the general Kashmir trip cost guide covers the same ground for families and groups.
Where the money goes
Flights: usually the biggest single cost
Return flights for two from Delhi run to roughly ₹16,000–28,000 in an ordinary month, and much more around Christmas, New Year and the start of the summer holidays. From Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Kolkata expect more. Wedding season matters here: if your wedding is in late November or February, every other honeymooner from your city is flying in the same week. Book the flights as soon as the wedding date is fixed.
There is also the train: Vande Bharat services now run into Srinagar from Katra and Jammu Tawi. Our guide to reaching Kashmir compares the options from each city.
The houseboat night
Almost every Kashmir honeymoon includes one night on a Dal Lake houseboat, and it should. A deluxe houseboat costs roughly ₹6,000–10,000 a night for two, a luxury heritage boat much more. Houseboats vary more than hotels do, and the photographs online are not always recent. Ask which boat, by name, before you pay.
Hotels
A good 3★ hotel in Srinagar costs ₹3,000–6,000 a night for two with breakfast and dinner. Upgrading to a 4★ or a well-reviewed boutique hotel roughly doubles that. Gulmarg and Pahalgam cost more than Srinagar for the same standard, and a night in either is worth it for one reason: you get the meadow before the day visitors arrive and after they leave.
The car
A private sedan with a driver for the whole trip is standard on a honeymoon, and every honeymoon package we sell includes one. Couples sometimes try to save by taking day taxis instead. It rarely saves much, and it means negotiating every morning of your honeymoon.
The extras that make it a honeymoon
- Shikara ride: about ₹700–800 per hour for the boat at Tourism Department rates. Sunset is the hour to book. Our honeymoon packages all include one hour.
- Candlelight dinner: included in all our honeymoon packages. Booked separately, it costs whatever the hotel decides.
- Photoshoot in Kashmiri dress: a few hundred rupees per photo at the stalls on the Dal Lake boulevard and at Gulmarg; much more for a hired photographer.
- Gulmarg Gondola: about ₹800 per person for Phase 1 and ₹1,000 for Phase 2 at 2026 fares, ₹3,600 for two for both phases. Book on the official portal only.
- Pahalgam union cab to Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari: ₹2,100–3,000 for all three by the April 2026 tariff, depending on the vehicle.
- Pony rides: a few hundred to a couple of thousand rupees per person, depending on the route.
- Shopping: pashmina, saffron, a papier-mâché box for the new home. Set a number before you go.

Our honeymoon packages compared
All prices below are per couple, in total, land-only from Srinagar with GST included. The difference between them is not only the hotel standard, so read the inclusions as well as the price:
Without Gondola and Pahalgam extras included
- Short Kashmir Couples Getaway, 3N/4D: ₹28,400. 3★/4★ hotels, one deluxe houseboat night, candlelight dinner, flower decoration on arrival, private shikara hour.
- Romantic Honeymoon Kashmir, 5N/6D: ₹38,900. The same inclusions over five nights, with a night in Pahalgam.
With Gondola Phase 1, the Pahalgam union cab and valley entry included
These six all include the shikara hour, an illuminated evening boat ride, a candlelight dinner with cake, a welcome gift, a photoshoot in Kashmiri dress, Mughal Garden tickets, Gondola Phase 1, the Pahalgam local cab to Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari, and the Aru and Betaab entry fees:
- Glimpse of Kashmir, 4N/5D: ₹36,645. Deluxe houseboat and Srinagar hotel.
- Shades of Kashmir, 5N/6D: ₹41,580. Adds a night in Pahalgam.
- Vale of Kashmir, 6N/7D: ₹47,775. Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam nights.
- Mesmerizing Kashmir, 4N/5D: ₹55,125. Upgraded Srinagar hotel.
- Treasure of Kashmir, 5N/6D luxury: ₹83,580. Upgraded hotels in Srinagar and Pahalgam.
- The Essence of Kashmir, 6N/7D luxury: ₹98,490. Upgraded hotels in Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
Do the comparison properly: Gondola Phase 1 for two is about ₹1,600 and the Pahalgam cab for all three points up to ₹3,000. So Shades of Kashmir at ₹41,580 works out cheaper than Romantic Honeymoon at ₹38,900 once you add those to the second one. Romantic Honeymoon is the better choice if you would rather spend your Gulmarg day on the meadow than in the Gondola queue, or prefer its 3★/4★ hotel mix.

Three honeymoon budgets, totalled
Budget: 4 nights, about ₹59,000
- Glimpse of Kashmir, 4N/5D: ₹36,645, with Gondola Phase 1 and the Pahalgam cab already included.
- Return flights from Delhi in a quiet month, booked early: ₹18,000.
- Lunches and small extras: ₹4,000.
- Total ≈ ₹58,600, of which about ₹40,600 is spent on the ground.
Mid-range: 6 nights, about ₹85,000
- Vale of Kashmir, 6N/7D: ₹47,775.
- Return flights: ₹24,000.
- Gondola Phase 2 for two: ₹2,000.
- Meals out, a wazwan, pony ride, shopping: ₹11,000.
- Total ≈ ₹84,800.
Luxury: 6 nights, about ₹1,40,000
- The Essence of Kashmir, 6N/7D: ₹98,490.
- Return flights at a convenient time: ₹28,000.
- Gondola Phase 2, private experiences, a good pashmina: ₹15,000 or more.
- Total ≈ ₹1,41,500.
The pattern is the same as for every Kashmir trip: flights and extras are a third or more of the real cost. A honeymoon quote that looks unusually cheap usually has a houseboat you have not seen, or leaves out the extras you were going to pay for anyway.
Which month gives the best honeymoon for the money
- December to February: snow. Gulmarg under snow is what many couples picture, and January–February is the reliable window. Christmas and New Year are the most expensive weeks of the year; mid-January is not.
- March to April: spring, almond blossom and the Tulip Garden from late March. Early March is quiet and good value; April is busy.
- May to June: green meadows, everything open, the highest prices and the biggest crowds.
- September to November: clear skies, cool days, chinar colour in late October and November, and good rates outside Diwali week. Our pick for value.

Ways to save on a Kashmir honeymoon
- Fix the flights first, the day the wedding date is fixed.
- Travel a week after the wedding, not the next morning. Fares fall sharply once the wedding-season rush has flown out.
- One houseboat night, not two. Spend the difference on a better Srinagar hotel.
- Compare packages on inclusions, not headline price. Gondola tickets, the Pahalgam cab and entry fees add up.
- Skip Gondola Phase 2 in bad weather. It is often closed by wind anyway, and Phase 1 alone is spectacular.
- Buy pashmina once, from a GI-certified seller, rather than three times from houseboat salesmen.
Things couples ask us
- Do you need a marriage certificate? No. Hotels need government photo ID for both of you, and that is all.
- Can the room be decorated? Yes. Flower decoration on arrival is included in Romantic Honeymoon and the Short Getaway, and can be added to any package.
- Is it OK to show affection in public? Kashmir is a conservative place. Holding hands is fine; more than that is better kept for the houseboat.
- Can we add Doodhpathri, Yusmarg or Gurez? Yes. Doodhpathri and Yusmarg fit as day trips. Gurez needs permits and an overnight stay.
