Twin-lake viewpoint
Both lakes from the ridge towards Gadsar.
An alpine lake at about 3,800 m, a short climb above Vishansar on the Great Lakes trek, under a wall of peaks. One of the most photographed views of the route.
Krishansar, also spelt Kishansar, sits just above Vishansar under the steep north face of the surrounding peaks. From the ridge beyond, on the way to Gadsar pass, you see both lakes at once — the most famous view of the Great Lakes trek.
It is reached only on foot, as part of the multi-day Great Lakes route.
The Kashmir Great Lakes trek is a high-altitude route of about a week, crossing passes above 4,000 m. It needs fitness, a registered operator with guides and ponies, and full camping gear. Check registration and permission rules at the time of booking — they change from season to season.

We are based in Srinagar and on these roads every day. If a road closure, weather or a local restriction affects your route, we will tell you before you travel and adjust the itinerary.
