Doodhganga stream
White stones and clear water in the meadow.
A meadow valley above Yusmarg along the Doodhganga, named for its white stones. A pony ride or walk for travellers who want more than the main Yusmarg meadow.
Sang-e-Safed means “white stone”. The valley lies above Yusmarg, where the Doodhganga stream runs over pale rocks between meadow and forest. In summer, herders graze their flocks here.
It is reached by pony or on foot from Yusmarg, and combines with the Nilnag walk for a full day in the hills.
Agree pony rates and the route at the Yusmarg stand. Carry water and snacks; there are no facilities.
