Aman Setu
The peace bridge over the Jhelum at the LoC.
The Kaman Aman Setu, a bridge on the Line of Control near Uri that once carried the Srinagar–Muzaffarabad bus. Opened to visitors by permission.
Kaman Post is the last Indian post on the Jhelum before the Line of Control, beyond Uri. The Kaman Aman Setu — the Bridge of Peace — crosses the river here; from 2005 it carried the cross-LoC bus between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, and later cross-LoC trade, until those were suspended.
In recent years, visits to Kaman Post have been permitted for tourists under army supervision. You see the bridge, the Jhelum valley and the hills on the other side.
This is a border area. Visits need permission from the local authorities or army, usually arranged a day or more ahead, and every adult must carry original government photo ID. Foreign nationals face additional restrictions. Access can be suspended at short notice — we confirm the position before you travel.

Large numbers of tourists visit Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg every season, and the main tourist circuit is well policed. Conditions can still change at short notice, so before you book, check the latest travel updates from J&K Tourism and any advisory from your own government if you are travelling from abroad. We are based in Srinagar and on these roads every day. If a road closure, weather or a local restriction affects your route, we will tell you before you travel and adjust the itinerary.
