Since the Vande Bharat started running from Katra in 2025, many travellers arrive at Srinagar by train. The station is not central: it sits beside the national highway at Nowgam, so you need a car to reach Dal Lake or the city hotels.
Share your train number and coach when you book. The driver waits at the station exit, and the drive is quick on the bypass outside rush hours.
