The Lidder bank
Flat riverside ground for picnics and camping.
A village on the Lidder on the approach to Pahalgam, with a riverbank picnic spot, orchards and camping — a quieter halt before the town.
Frislan (also spelt Fraslan) is a village on the Lidder on the approach to Pahalgam. The valley is still broad here, with orchards and fields on the river terraces and the hills closing in towards Pahalgam.
The riverbank is a local picnic and camping spot: flat ground, shade and the sound of the Lidder, without the traffic of Pahalgam town. It makes a pleasant break on the drive, especially if you are travelling with children.
It is not a destination on its own; treat it as a stop on the way to Pahalgam. Some camps run here in summer for travellers who prefer tents to hotels.

Deluxe houseboat, shikara ride, candlelight dinner and cake across the four main valley stops.
On a five-day trip, a day trip from Srinagar is more efficient: about 2.5 hours each way, with no hotel change. On six nights or more, one night in Pahalgam is worth it, because you see Betaab Valley and Aru early, before the day visitors arrive.
